Measurement Microphone Sets | Complete Calibrated Kits

PLACID microphone sets combine a matched measurement microphone capsule and preamplifier body in a single, factory-calibrated package ready for immediate deployment. Every set is assembled from components that have been measured together, with the combined system sensitivity documented in the calibration certificate. This ensures that the sensitivity value on the certificate accurately reflects the performance of the microphone and preamplifier as a combined unit, not just the capsule in isolation.

Microphone sets eliminate the selection work involved in matching capsules and preamplifiers separately, and provide a single calibration document that covers the complete sensing chain from acoustic input to electrical output. They are particularly well suited to environmental noise monitoring programmes where instruments must be deployed quickly, to multi-site monitoring networks where instrument interchangeability matters, and to compliance testing where calibration documentation simplicity is valued.

What Is Included

Sets are available with ISO/IEC 17025 accredited calibration on request, providing an accredited certificate with stated expanded measurement uncertainty for the assembled system. Accredited calibration can be arranged at the time of purchase or for instruments already in service.

Calibration Certificate and Recalibration

The calibration certificate supplied with a PLACID microphone set documents the sensitivity of the assembled capsule-preamplifier combination at 1 kHz and the frequency response across the measurement bandwidth. For ISO/IEC 17025 accredited certificates, the expanded measurement uncertainty is stated at coverage factor k = 2. When the set is returned for periodic recalibration, the new certificate continues the sensitivity history for the serial number, supporting interval-to-interval traceability continuity for quality management audits.
