Every PLACID measurement microphone ships with a standard 1-year warranty against manufacturing defects and a QA/AC factory calibration certificate documenting that the instrument met its published specifications at the time of manufacture. This is the baseline documentation package for all PLACID measurement microphones and sets.
A 3-year extended warranty is available in combination with ISO/IEC 17025 accredited calibration. The extended warranty package provides two additional years of manufacturing defect coverage and includes the accredited calibration certificate with stated expanded measurement uncertainty that is required for accredited testing programmes and quality management systems that specify ISO/IEC 17025 traceability.
ISO/IEC 17025 accredited calibration is available at any time as a standalone service — for PLACID instruments, for instruments already in service, and for compatible third-party microphones. Periodic recalibration is essential for maintaining the validity of your calibration records and the defensibility of your measurement programme. We recommend recalibration every 2 years for compliance measurement programmes and annually for accredited testing laboratory applications.
For instruments in service that require recalibration, the return process is straightforward: package the instrument securely, include a brief description of the required calibration scope, and ship to PLACID Utrecht. We issue an acknowledgement on receipt and the calibration certificate is dispatched within the stated turnaround period. For PLACID instruments outside the standard warranty period, we also offer a condition assessment service to verify that the instrument is still within specification before issuing the calibration certificate.
