Every PLACID measurement microphone ships with a factory QA/AC calibration certificate confirming that the instrument meets its published specifications. ISO/IEC 17025 accredited calibration is available for every microphone in the range, providing a traceable sensitivity determination with stated expanded measurement uncertainty. This is the calibration standard required by ISO 9001 quality management systems, regulatory compliance programmes, and any measurement whose results may be subject to challenge.
Accreditation under ISO/IEC 17025 means that our calibration laboratory has been independently assessed by a national accreditation body — in our case, RvA (Raad voor Accreditatie, the Dutch accreditation council) — and found competent to perform the specific calibration methods listed in our scope of accreditation. Traceability runs from our laboratory reference standards through VSL (Van Swinden Laboratorium, the Dutch national metrology institute) to BIPM international standards. Every link in the traceability chain is documented.
The factory QA/AC certificate supplied with every microphone confirms that the instrument's sensitivity at 1 kHz falls within the specified tolerance for its class, and that the frequency response meets the Class 1 or Class 2 window of IEC 61672 or IEC 61094. It is a quality assurance document. The ISO/IEC 17025 accredited calibration certificate states the measured sensitivity at 1 kHz, the frequency response at multiple points, and an uncertainty budget for each value. It is a measurement result document.
Calibration services are available for all instruments in the PLACID range and for selected compatible third-party microphones. Contact our calibration team to discuss your requirements, turnaround needs, and documentation format.
